curated by Luigi Pedrazzi

Opening Thursday, June 18 at 19.00
19 June to 12 July 2015
Arteutopia-Hernandez Art Gallery

The exhibition features 25 large-format images, built between 2012 and 2015 by Fabio Bolinelli, never exhibited in Milan. His subjects are buildings, monuments and famous works uprooted from their context and interpreted with the help of the digital into new contexts timeless.

“His photographs – explains the curator Luigi Pedrazzi – can transform the object in its more intimate and secret nature, in a de-contextualization hued almost ‘prophetic’ to investigate the deeper and esoteric meaning, freeing it from scale of this . His metaphysical representations offer a solemn and magic photograph, where objects of perceived reality, statues, monuments, cathedrals, will ‘reveal’ in parallel realities, dreamlike but real, and take on a meaning that increases the symbolic and universal where they were born.”
Bolinelli says: “My latest works developed in about two years are the result of a personal quest. It is the analysis of a thought that explores various types of landscapes with surreal visions and metaphysical, suggesting the memory of the German classics and Renaissance paintings. The pictures are made by digital photographic technique, decontextualizing holy places, monuments, squares, buildings and fountains.

These static elements and properties lie in open spaces and deserts, in stretches where the view stretches to the horizon. The images evoke so metaphysical world, where space and time are connected by a quantum universe, which annuls the perception of past, present and future. The architectural elements and monuments are joined parallel spaces and time, they are places where there are fragments of our history, of our past and of our size living. Braving the temporal mechanism of infinite space, nothing you deny our existence and our spirit will always be incardinated in our DNA. “
